Southeast businesses invite community to fun night of laughs

There is a unique opportunity on Saturday in Ile des Chênes to see a magician, watch or participate in a game show, and mingle with the people who drive much of the Southeast’s economy.

The Manitoba Southeast Commerce Group Chamber is bringing in mentalist The Amazing Warbo to amaze the crowd and emcee Jimmy Mac to host a Family-Feud style contest with audience participation. Jimmy Mac has been on the Comedy Network, Trailer Park Boys, CBC Laugh Out Loud, Just for Laughs and more.

“We wanted to create something that everybody from the community could attend even if they’re not related to businesses,” said chamber executive director Marc Palud.

The game show will have teams from Ritchot, Taché, Ste Anne, the chamber, and local media going head to head in a fun, knowledge testing contest. Prizes and bragging rights are up for grabs.

Awards will also be handed out as part of the annual event. The chamber represents businesses and municipalities.

Tickets include entry into prize draws worth $2,000, a drink and appetizers. They are $30 and can be bought at IDC Country Store in Ile des Chenes, Ste Agathe Service Centre, Affinity Insurance in Ste Adolphe, Dawson Trail Coffee Co. in Ste Anne, and in Lorette at ESSO Gas and Grocery Store or Chicken Chef.

The night at TC Energy Centre starts at 6:30 p.m.
