It’s still months until Summer in the City hits the streets of Steinbach but festival preparations are heating up.
Festival organizers announced Wednesday that multi-platinum country group High Valley will take to the stage on Friday, June 13.
Following their tradition of having a rock band the following night, Aerosmith and The Cars tribute band Drive This Way will hit the main stage on Saturday, June 13.

High Valley
The top selling Canadian band in country music history, High Valley is lead by singer/songwriters Brad Rempel. They’ve been nominated for ACM, CMT and Juno awards and have earned multiple CCMA awards.
Hits include Make You Mine, She’s With Me and Grew Up On That.
This year also marks Rempel’s debut as a television co-host, starring in a new home flipping series with Jennifer Wayne. That series will debut on the Design Network this fall.
“We are excited to have them headlining our Friday night concert on the Summer in the City stage,” the press release states.
Drive This Way
Saturday’s band is described as a high-energy tribute band that brings the legendary sounds of two iconic rock acts, Aerosmith and The Cars to life.

“Paying homage to the raw power and bluesy swagger of Aerosmith, Drive This Way delivers crowd favourites like Dream On, Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion while seamlessly transitioning into the slick, synth-infused pop rock anthems of The Cars with classics like Drive, the press release states.
The tribute experience is intended to transport fans back to the golden era of rock and roll.
“Get ready for a night of nostalgia, high energy, and timeless music that captures the essence of both of these legendary bands,” the release stated.
Ticket are on sale at summerinthecity.ca. High Valley tickets cost $55 while Drive This Way tickets can be purchased for $40.
